Once a month, we will hold a live stream that can be found on this page. There we will study scripture together as well as address these questions and any others you may have. We are so glad you have chosen to join us on this journey. May God bless you and grant you wisdom and understanding.

You Asked We Responded

My dear friends, I am looking for an answer with you and I can say that many of your questions are also my questions. So let’s explore what we have understood and learned so far and leave room for what the Lord will continue to add to our knowledge and understanding. This is the application of the principle called Present Truth, meaning the truth in the present context.

In a similar situation, the people of that time, like us today, came to Him with the same question.
Jesus exhorted them, “people of the house of God”: John 6,27. “Work not for the food that perishes, but for the food that remains for eternal life and that the Son of man will give you; for the Father, that is, God Himself, marked Him with His seal.”
Those people, like us today, were benevolent and willing to fulfill this thing in life and that’s why they asked:
v. 28. They said to Him: “What shall we do to accomplish the works of God?”
But their goodwill was hard tested and so is our goodwill to be better friends of Jesus, at the moment when He offered the Solution:
v29. Jesus answered them: “The work that God requires is this: that you believe in the One whom He has sent.”

Immediately they rejected the gift and offer of faith and asked, materialistically, for a sign…
In simple words, our friendship with God, like our love for Him, is born from His friendship with us – “We love Him because He first loved us” 1 John 4,19. The method or way to reach this desired destiny is the one expressed in 2 Cor 3,18: We all look with open face, as in a mirror, the glory of the Lord, and we are changed into the same image of Him, from glory to glory, by the Spirit of God. (2Cor.3:18) So that our friendship with the Friend of our friend, Jesus, is born and grows through our concern with the goodness and beauty of His friendship with us. We don’t ‘change’ into better friends, but ‘we are changed into the same image of Him’, from glory to glory, that is, progressively.

a. First of all, let’s define what the expression Babylon means:
Exclusivism: Isaiah 47, 8. ,,Listen now, you who are given to pleasures, who sit without care and say in your heart: “I, and only I, will never be a widow and I will never be childless!” Because you trusted in your wickedness and said: “No one sees me!” Your wisdom and knowledge deceived you, because you said in your heart: “I and only I.” (Isa.47:10) This is where the doctrine was born: extra ecclesiam nulla salus- There is no salvation outside the church. This is called the “messianic complex” under whose impression an institution believes and declares itself the Savior of the world. This formula was taken over in word or spirit and personalized by the different historical churches or the different Christian, Protestant and neo-Protestant denominations. Whatever church practices this, it lives in the spirit of Babylon. Scripture says that salvation is linked to Someone, not to something: There is salvation in no one else: for there is no other Name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12) The apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ had the care to say: “Why are you staring at us with fixed eyes, as if by our power or by our piety we had made this man walk?” (Acts 3:12)
b. In the spirit of salvation through something instead of Jesus, the doctrine of salvation through works was born. This is called in the Scriptures “the wine of Babylon”. It is opposed by the word of Scripture which says: For by grace you have been saved, through faith. And this does not come from you; but it is the gift of God. (Eph. 2:8)
He saved us and gave us a holy calling, not because of our works, but according to His decision and according to the grace given to us in Christ Jesus, before the ages, (2Tim.1:9) The wine of Babylon is drink and it is given to drink to all peoples: Rev 18, 1. After that, I saw another angel coming down from heaven, who had great power; and the earth was illuminated by his glory.
2. He cried out with a loud voice and said: “Babylon the great is fallen, fallen! She has become a place of devils, a prison of every unclean spirit, a prison of every unclean and foul bird;
3. because all the nations drank of the wine of the fury of her fornication, and the kings of the earth committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich through the waste of her revelry.”
God’s intention with Babylon: We wanted to heal Babylon, but it was not healed! Leave him, and let us all go to our country, because his punishment has reached the heavens and rises to the clouds. – (Jer. 51:9)
Babylon is the expression of the mystery of the infinite, which is the elevation of the self to the rank of god or Savior.
God’s call for us: Rev. 18, 4. Then I heard another voice from heaven, which said: “Come out of her midst, My people, so that you do not share in her sins and that you are not struck with her plagues!
